Why We Love Lewis Center, Ohio
Lewis Center is located in northwestern Orange Township in Delaware County. The city’s zip code includes several major shopping centers in addition to several popular retail stores that are located along U.S. Route 23. Lewis Center is situated along the east side of the Olentangy River, across from the city of Powell. Lewis Center is also located west of Alum Creek State Park, which is north of the Polaris Shopping Center. It has a population of 30,400 residents. The community has a wide selection of fun things you can do there. In addition to shopping, they have local dining, great parks, local entertainment and much more. The community was established when the railroad was constructed up to that point in 1850. They named the place after the family of William L. Lewis. The Lewis family was said to have donated the land they needed for a railroad station in exchange for the rights to name the community and the station. By 1852, a post office with the name Lewis Centre was constructed. Later, however, the spelling was changed in 1893.
